Glossary

quenched and tempered steels
Steel mill production quenched and tempered steels.
The quenched and tempered steel is a building steel, a steel employed for mechanical engineering and civil engineering constuctions.
The quenched and tempered steels are steels with enhanced mechanical characteristics (blow endurance and fatigue strenght), steels having the best compromise between resilience and tenacity, steels employed for mechanical parts, shafts, plungers, chrome bars, bars for pumps, working at temperatures higher than -20°C.
The quenched and tempered steels have a carbon concentration between 0,20% and 0,60%, and the connecting elements (nickel, chrome, molybdenum, manganese, vanadium) improve tenacity and thoughness.

Examples of quenched and tempered steels tipologies: C40, 39NiCrMo3, 34NiCrMo16, 36CrMn5.

The quenched and tempered steels can be produced with special and customized mechanical characteristics.

The quenched and tempered steels’ production concerns dozens of steel specs, so contact our Client Service for a consult about Your particular needs.
