Facts and figures
Acciaieria di Rubiera has a single industrial facility in the vicinity of the River Secchia in the Province of Reggio Emilia.
The company is legally represented by Franco Testi, who is the managing director.
The production facility has a covered surface area of 27,200 sqm.
Our offices occupy 1400 sqm while changing rooms occupy 700 sqm.
The company employs a workforce of 115 staff in the production of steel billets and ingots, and works to order, prevalently for the Italian market. Our export business is currently less than 10% of total turnover. Annual production is around 170,000 tons.
Secondary steelworks operations, based on casting scrap iron, has reached its maximum efficiency in Italy.
Italian steel production can be divided into electric furnace (60%) and blast furnace (40%) operations. This is the reason for the considerable increase in scrap iron imports, which have reached a level of 5-7 million tons per year.
In this context, the region of Emilia Romagna has centuries of experience in steelworking, and Acciaieria di Rubiera is the modern expression of this tradition, producing forging ingots and steel press and rolling billets.
